Meet a Mom: Janelle Rendon | Cypress Moms Network

Meet Janelle Rendon

Hi Mamas! I am so happy to introduce you to Janelle Rendon, this week’s Meet a Mom. Janelle is a lifestyle and motherhood blogger. She shares snips of her life through her social media and blog. If you follow her page, you will find that she shares a lot of amazing tips and information in a light and fun way. If you meet her in person, you will instantly feel her warmth and welcoming personality! I knew she was a perfect fit to be featured as a local Meet a Mom because she makes it a point of supporting other women, especially Moms. One of the things I admire about her, is that she realizes that there are so many expectations in motherhood and she makes it a point to bring everything back to reality on what is truly realistic in life. I hope you enjoy the interview showcasing this amazing Mom who has truly taken this Motherhood journey in stride and grown an incredible platform!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I grew up in Sugar Land, TX about 35 minutes from Cypress. I’ve lived in the great state of Texas my entire life, with brief stops in College Station for college at Texas A&M and a few years in Houston when I started my first job. My husband Marcus and I have lived in Cypress for 4 years now!

How many children do you have and what are their ages?

We have two children – Adeline who is 3.5 years old and Jacob who is 1.5 years old.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I don’t drink coffee! My parents were always brewing it growing up, so I love the smell.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

The other moms I’ve met here in Cypress have been instrumental in making it feel like home. I think it is so important to find a circle of friends in the same stage of motherhood as you. You need friends with newborns when you have newborns and friends with preschoolers when you have preschoolers. There is something about being in the thick of it with other women that really brings you together and creates a special bond.

Favorite things to do with your kids around town?

We are blessed to have so many great parks and outdoor spaces in the area! My kids also love splash pads and indoor parks/gyms, both of which are great for the summer months when it’s so hot outside! Before COVID, the public library at Lone Star College has free classes with singing and storytelling. Hopefully, those will resume soon!

My kids and I met most of our best friends in Momleta Cypress, which is an exercise group specifically for moms with stroller-aged kids. It is a great way for stay-at-home moms to get a workout in without having to put their kids in any kind of childcare. It’s also a great way to connect socially as they host lots of playdates and mom’s nights out!

Favorite local things to do in the Cypress area?

Marcus and I are at a stage in our lives where taking our kids to restaurants isn’t particularly enjoyable, so whenever we get a date night we can’t wait to go out to eat! Our favorite restaurant is Local Table in the Bridgeland area (highly recommend the goat cheese starter). We also frequent the Boardwalk Towne Lake both for the restaurants and the ambiance. Our favorites at the Boardwalk are Union Kitchen, Ambriza (you have to try the cucumber serrano margarita!), and First Watch.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

I am a local Cypress blogger! My main goal with my blog and Instagram presence is to build a platform where I can share organizations and initiatives that are making a positive impact in our community. I also use my platform to promote small businesses, share fun things to do in the area, alert my audience of great deals and hopefully bring a little joy to those who follow along.

You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and on my blog, JanelleRendon.com

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I am so thankful to the women in Cypress and specifically to those in the Cypress Moms Network community for supporting my blog and Instagram account. Without their support and encouragement, I would not have been able to reach as many Cypress women and partner with as many local businesses as I have. Women are unstoppable when we band together and lift each other up. In the words of my three-year-old daughter, “Girl Power!”
