Easter Bunny Cake - Cypress Moms Network

When you want to make Easter special, but don’t have a ton of time to cook or bake, this semi-homemade cake from the moms behind Habitual Hostess is perfect. With boxed cake and premade or homemade icing (they love Ina Garten’s), it comes together as fast as a bunny!

INGREDIENTS

1 box cake mix
Cream cheese icing (homemade or store bought)
Blue or black frosting in tubes
Pink and green sugar sprinkles (or any color you wish)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oven and prepare two 9-inch round baking pans as directed on cake box.
  2. Prepare cake batter as directed on package.
  3. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake and cool cake as directed on package.
  4. When cooled, place one whole 9-inch cake layer on serving tray, forming the bunny’s head.
  5. Cut two convex shaped ears from each side of the second layer; place on each side of head to form ears.
  6. Use concave shaped piece for the bowtie; place about 1/2 inch below head.
  7. Frost entire bunny, covering top and sides of bunny.
  8. Decorate the bunny’s face with icing and sprinkles.
