Meet a Mom: Cypress Moms, Meet Your New Health Resource: Dr. Kim Tran! - Cypress Moms Network

We are so thrilled to introduce you all to the powerhouse mama, Dr. Kim Tran, the driving force behind Revive Chiropractic + Wellness, for this month’s special “Meet a Mom” feature! Seriously, ladies, you’re going to want to grab a cup of coffee (or maybe a big glass of water, depending on your season of life!) and soak this one in.

Dr. Kim specializes in two of the most critical and magical stages of life: Pediatric and Pregnancy chiropractic care, coupled with expert functional nutrition. She’s the kind of doctor who gets it—because she’s right there in the trenches with us, raising four busy kiddos of her own! She deeply understands the need for specialized analysis and proper adjustment for both our pregnant bellies and our growing children and babies.

And guess what? Her practice is a family affair! She works closely alongside her partner and wonderful husband, Dr. Maxwell Tran, who perfectly rounds out the practice by providing excellent chiropractic care for all the adults (yes, that means us!). By also incorporating functional nutrition, Revive Chiropractic + Wellness truly gets to the root cause of health concerns, offering a holistic, whole-family approach. With two successful practices already under their belts, we are beyond excited that their latest adventure brings them to the Cypress community! Their gorgeous new office is conveniently located at 17836 Mound Rd. Ste. B, Cypress, TX 77433. Welcome to Cypress, Dr. Kim! We’re so lucky to have you!

Q: Where are you from originally, and how long have you lived in the North Houston area?

A: I’m originally from New Orleans, Louisiana born and raised! I’ve been in the North Houston (Cypress) area for about 20 years now, and it really feels like home at this point. Am I considered a Houstonian by now?

Q: What are some things around town that you enjoy as a family?

A: As a family, we love spending time being out at local markets and exploring new food places. The Bridgeland and Fairfield Farmers Markets are our weekend staples, and we spend a lot of time at local parks in the Bridgeland area. We also love walking the Towne Lake Boardwalk for dinner or dessert. Cypress has such a nice balance of community and nature, and we try to soak it all in. Now with Christmas coming, going to The Christmas tree farms and picking out a tree is also a must for us.

Q: Which is your favorite restaurant in Cypress?

A: We’re big foodies! I cannot pick just the one! I love Edojin for sushi. It’s our go-to spot. Duck n Bao and the new 88 Korean BBQ & Sushi are also favs. For breakfast, we often go to First Watch or Little Kitchen HTX. Love that Sweet Paris just opened as well. For BBQ we go to Brisket & Rice. It’s so good! When we want something fresh and farm-to-table, Season’s Harvest Café and Local Table are always a favorite.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why, and how long would you stay?

A: We’re actually planning a 10-day trip to Italy right now for our 10 year anniversary. It’s been a dream of mine because I love the food culture there. The slow pace, the local ingredients, the connection around meals. We’re starting in Milan, then traveling through Tuscany and Florence, the Amalfi Coast ending in Rome. I can already smell the affogatos waiting for me. If we didn’t have four kids, I’d probably stay longer! But we’re coming back on our son’s birthday, so 10 days feels just right for this season of life.

Q: What is something interesting about yourself that others may not know about you?

A: Something most people don’t know about me is that I actually went to nursing school. I always thought I’d become a labor and delivery nurse because I wanted to work with moms and babies. But during my pediatrics and labor and delivery rotation, I realized nursing wasn’t quite the right fit for me. I ended up switching paths, earning my degree in biology and kinesiology, becoming a personal trainer, and eventually a pregnancy and pediatric Chiropractor. Now, in such a full-circle way, I still get to work with moms, babies, and families just through a different lens.

Q: What’s the best mom advice you have ever been given (or your own advice to mamas out there)?

A: The best mom advice I’ve ever received is to look at motherhood in seasons. Some are challenging, some are beautiful and most are both. Something will always be sticky, laundry will always pile up, sleep, well that always ebbs and flows too. But none of them last forever. It’s about giving ourselves grace, letting go of perfection, and remembering that we’re growing right alongside our kids. Grace over guilt, that’s something I try to remind myself often. Even if that means the hair stays in a messy bun and coffee is in hand. You are enough mama and if anything else, there are always snacks (for you and the kids).

Q: Our mission is to Give Moms the Gift of Time. What are your best time-saving tips or resources as a mom?

A: I like to think I’m the queen of delegation! I’ve learned that I can’t do it all and I don’t need to. I happily outsource grocery shopping, house cleaning, and whatever else I can because it gives me more space to be present with my kids. At this point if it doesn’t light me up or protect our family’s peace, we outsource. Putting up Christmas lights outside is on that list too! We also use chore charts and small allowances to get the kids involved, which has been a huge help. As moms we have to stop trying to do all the things at once and know that asking for help is OK! And I’ve realized that saving time isn’t just about doing more, it’s about giving myself permission to pause. Even if it’s just ten minutes of journaling with a cup of coffee I probably won’t finish warm. That time helps me reset before the day begins. Your “me time” needs to be more than a hot shower without interruption (if possible).

Thank you so much, Dr. Kim, for sharing such wonderful and relatable advice! From recognizing motherhood in seasons (we all need that “grace over guilt” reminder!) to your genius delegation tips, you’ve given us so much to think about. It is truly an inspiration to see a mama balancing a booming business that serves our community’s most precious members—moms and babies! Make sure to follow Revive Chiropractic + Wellness and give Dr. Kim and Dr. Maxwell a warm Cypress welcome at their beautiful new office. Investing in your family’s foundational health is one of the best gifts you can give yourself, and we are so grateful to have such an amazing resource right here in our backyard!
