Before the season even starts, several registration reminders go out to be sure that you know when the season is, when registration deadlines are, and when to sign up before it’s too late. This is very helpful for those of us who balance hectic schedules. The communication is clear and concise and they make the registration process easy!
After you get registered, they will send season information emails intermittently leading up to the program start date. These include useful information like registration confirmations, FAQ’s, equipment details, and more. The schedules are released 10 – 14 days prior to the season start date, and the whole season is already mapped out. You don’t have to wonder about what time your game will be in 5 weeks, because that has already been set! This makes planning your weekend easy and leaves enough time for everything else you have going on in your busy schedule.
Once opening day comes, the experience once you get on-site is wonderful. The venue is organized and looks the part with a branded tent / table information center, and the staff is very attentive to get you where you need to go for the day.
Once you make it to your field, you will meet your team’s coach and they will give your child their jersey for the season. The jersey price is included in the price of registration, so there are no extra fees or hassles to get your jersey! The coach will then have a few get-to-know you games for the kids, and then will get right into the practice and sportsmanship value of the week.
Another great part about i9 Sports is the focus on sportsmanship and character development. The programs have teaching integrated in the programs to teach leadership and character traits that help your child off the field too!
The practices at i9 Sports are also great because the organization provides detailed practice plans to the volunteer coaches, so drills are well-organized, and help teach the kids the skills of the game in an age appropriate manner. By the end of the season, your child will be better than when they started.
When the game wraps up for the day, the coach will pass out a sportsmanship medal to the kid who exemplified that value for the week, and then it is snack time! Parents are able to sign up online to bring snacks for the team each week, so it is easy to keep track of who is bringing what on what day.
All in all, i9 Sports is the best organization for anyone looking to get their child involved in sports without it becoming their whole life. While you are able to keep active and be on a team, the once a week format leaves plenty of time for other hobbies or activities as a family.
