The Fly Girls of World War II Exhibit is Opening This Week! | Cypress Moms Network

It’s always an enlightening experience to learn about women in history, their triumphs, and how their bravery opened doors for women of the future. It’s even more exciting when we have the opportunity right here in Houston to not only educate our children, but also expose our little girls to the world of STEM – for seeing is believing, especially when it comes to fostering an interest for women involved in aviation!

The Lone Star Flight Museum has a new exhibit opening January 29th that does just that. The Fly Girls of WWII were part of an experimental flight training program right here in Houston as they answered the call to serve our country. After earning their silver wings, these female aviators were deployed to 120 bases across the United States.

Let’s jump on this opportunity to create and/or support an interest in STEM via flight, and what a wonderful way to introduce and encourage by checking out these brave women and their courageous stories.
