Spring has sprung and there’s no better way to celebrate than to get your kids in to swim lessons! This will give them plenty time to prepare for summer by learning or refreshing their swim safety skills ahead of time. They’ll not only learn life-saving safety techniques, but also get reacquainted with the water.
Let’s face it, drowning is not an easy subject to talk about, but in reality 87 children drowned in Texas last year. That is 87 too many! So far, in 2021, there have been 5 drownings and it’s incredibly heartbreaking. Drowning doesn’t discriminate and can happen to any of us. Let’s do what we can to reduce these numbers and learn to swim.
Thankfully, we have a wonderful school in our area, Houston Swim Club, that has such a loving, caring and fun environment. Check out how much fun our kiddos have had! They each started about 1.5 years ago and they are leaps and bounds safer in the water thanks to The Houston Swim Club! My oldest started at 6 years old and was swimming within the first 2 weeks. My middle son started at 4 years old and was floating on his own within 5 months. My daughter started at 23 months and was floating for 2 minutes on her own 2 months later! My youngest two have passed their float tests and my Mama heart feels so much better.
