Happy Friday Mamas – I hope you’re feeling refreshed after the eventful week that #snowmageddon brought with it. I am happy to get back into the groove especially because of features like today’s Meet a Mom interview. Today we invite you to meet Victoria Simo, a Mom who truly embodies strength, beauty, and grace. Victoria is the owner of Ballet and Pilates by Victoria. She is an incredible force and a truly inspirational woman who runs a successful studio and is a wonderful Mom to two kiddos. Though she herself is in the midst of her battle with cancer, she has made it a point to help others by raising funds and spreading awareness for cancer screening. If you know or follow her, you can easily see how full of love and gratitude she is. Victoria is a Mama filled with so much light and inspiration and I am proud to be showcasing such an incredible woman. I can say from personal experience that her Ballet studio is amazing. My daughter was enrolled in ballet lessons at Ballet & Pilates this past fall and it has been the best! I am constantly impressed by the instructors and the many ways they keep the tiny ballerinas and engaged and learning. Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I was lucky enough to be born and raised in Houston, Texas. I met my husband, George Simo, in Houston and we have been in love 23 years. I was professional ballerina for 10 years performing with Houston Ballet and Texas Ballet Theater in Dallas/Fort Worth. After I retired from ballet, we moved back to Houston to open Ballet and Pilates by Victoria.
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
We have two littles—Emily is 8 and Calvin is 5. Both dance at my studio and will be performing at The Berry Center Theater this May for Spring Recital!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
This past year, I had a double mastectomy, total thyroidectomy, hysterectomy and countless lymph nodes removed. I am doing radiation treatment right now and hopefully will be ringing that bell soon!
Even though I am in the middle of my fight with cancer, I feel I need to do something now! My studio, Ballet and Pilates by Victoria, raised 10K for Susan G Komen this past October, I have spoken at Woman’s groups and collaborating with Memorial Hermann’s marketing to spread awareness for screening of breasts, neck and gene mutations.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Oh my goodness—so many! My hubby is an incredible Dad. He has supported me through both bedrest pregnancies, NICU, cancer treatment and so much more! He is a Behavioral Specialist with Spring ISD and has showed me how to be patient, calm and positive with my children.
We are so blessed to have my parents just a few minutes away. My Mom and Dad make everything so fun and magical for my kiddos from teaching them to swim to taking them on hikes.
Favorite things to do with your kids around town?
Watching a ballet performance at The Wortham, Houston Museum of Natural Science-Sugar Land, Rainforest Café, The Galleria and Discovery Green.
Favorite local things to do in the Cypress area?
One of our sweet families at my studio owns Kidtastic and boy it is our favorite! It’s always fun to visit Creamistry, Bridgeland’s Treehouse, Tea for Two for a Mommy/Daughter date and Goforth Park.

I own and teach at Ballet and Pilates by Victoria. This is not your typical studio. We celebrate all! We offer 65+ classes per week In Person, Live Stream and On Demand. Every child should know the joys of dance. Magical Ballet classes for ages 18 months & up. Happy twirling! Adults can lengthen and strengthen in Barre, Reformer and Pilates. Free childcare included! High energy, low impact classes that leave your muscles shaking.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This loving and supportive community is everything! We could not be US without it. Making our clients feel loved, confident and empowered is what drives us. We get excited the second a customer walks in. We are forever grateful to this community for naming us Best in Cy-Fair for 3 years.
