Today we are showcasing Bella V Home Design as part of our Saturday Business Feature series! The owner, Bella Vignola Moran, is a local Mama to two adorable boys. This Mama is incredibly talented at what she does. Her energy fills the room and she has so much expertise in her design field. She has helped me with her design expertise first in our first home in Connecticut and now also our home here in NW Houston. If you have followed along in our stories, you may have seen that I have been redesigning our bathroom after a leak in our shower. Bella is the first person I call when it comes to paint ideas and in this case, most importantly designing a bathroom. She has such a passion about what she does and she has amazing taste. There is so much that comes into re-doing a bathroom, picking out the right paint, kitchens/bathrooms, and all areas of your home. This Mama is so knowledgeable and truly helps give Moms the gift of time by providing her design expertise each step of the way no matter what project you have. I am happy to support this small local business and the amazing Mama behind it!
Meet Bella V Home Design’s Owner: Bella Moran Vignola
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the area?
I am originally from the Northeast, I was born and a raised In NY and lived a portion of my life in Connecticut. My family and I moved to Houston in 2016 and absolutely love it here.
Do you have any children? If so, what are their ages?
Yes, two little boys Liam age 2 and Ethan 3 they are my true success story.
Tell us about your business?
I design homes that are welcoming and polished in ways that appear effortless. Having direct experience with trying it all, has helped my firm’s expertise in designing residential interiors for real people living busy lives in Houston and beyond. My firm focuses on Full service interior design, bathroom design and remodel, staging, project managing, paint color selection, and much more. Bella V’s goal is simple: a focus on quality and practicality that serves each client’s unique living experience. Bella V Home Design is committed to collaboration with my clients, respecting their needs, wishes, and I am invested to reach timely completion. “My projects are not about me as a designer, they are about the needs and dreams of the client. They are the designers! I empower the client, bring focus and cohesion to the design plan, and ensure the work gets done correctly.” I bring their vision to life.
When did the idea of creating your business start? How long have you been in business?
My passion for interior design began as a young girl after watching my father build and design homes for his clients. I would always be very involved in the family business and in all the home remodels he did. At every opportunity during the projects I would ask questions, constantly seeking to understand every aspect of the build and why decisions were made. Though life took me down several different paths, my passion for interior design never faded. After graduating college I devoted my time working for a few well known designers, and learning all facets of the industry hands on. My idea of creating my own business began when I was working in a showroom learning the industry, and clients would ask me to come out to their homes and design their kitchens and bathrooms. In a matter of a few years I was designing NYC penthouses and midtown duplexes. My friends were my biggest supporters, and I gave it a go. I’ve never looked back.
What is one thing you can point to that helped make your business successful?
I stick to my clients’ desires and try not to impose my own design. With this being said, I can somehow see pretty much anything described to me in pictures instantly in my head.
What was your biggest challenge as a business and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge is definitely reality tv shows like HGTV and Fixer Upper because they have given clients false expectations. The miracle makeovers, limitless budgets, and luxury furniture on these shows don’t accurately portray what it is like and takes to be an interior designer In real life, with real clients. There’s a lot more that goes goes with the career.
What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What is your favorite part about what you do?
I truly enjoy creating beautiful spaces that others get to enjoy. I live, love, and breathe what I do. Its my passion.
What does the future look like for you and your business?
Bella V Home Design’s Future is expanding and looking to bring on other partners to collaborate with.
What advice would you give to others that want to start something new?
I would advise anyone looking to start a business to give it a go, and to never give up on their dream.
Any advice for juggling all the things in daily life?
My best friend always tells me to just jot everything down in a calendar so you don’t forget when juggling lots of things. It really works! I actually put them in my phone, a book and in outlook. haha.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through?
My father – I will be forever thankful for him. He is engrained in every single one of my designs. He strongly believed in me and always spoke about my future as a designer and how great he knew I would be.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community has been extremely supportive and very design driven. Always looking to update, and be on the latest design trend which is great. Real estate is booming and it’s been great for business. It is important to renovate to boost the value of your investment and I believe the community totally gets the concept.
