This week is National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) which is is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. This year the celebration is from January 26th-February 1st. Schools typically observe the week with Masses, assemblies and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to celebrate and congratulate. Take a look below for a list of Catholic Schools in our area.
I recently listened to an interview with the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Superintendent and Director of Instruction. They encouraged families to come and see what Catholic Schools are all about. Though there is a strong emphasis on education, they also embed faith throughout the day. They have a key focus on teaching the students right from wrong, to use faith to get through difficult time, and to serve other people in the community.
