Meet a Mom: Amber Dale | Cypress Moms Network

Happy Monday Mamas! It’s so important to remember that to be a great parent, we have to be focused on being healthy ourselves as well. That can look different for each of us, but what is important is remembering to find what works for you, in keeping you feeling great. I remember someone using birds drinking from a fountain as a metaphor in parenthood  – the water from the fountain (the parent) must be good in order for the birds (the kids) to flourish drinking from the fountain! Today’s Meet a Mom Feature is Amber Dale, instructor at Pure Barre Towne Lake! She is a true inspiration and full of pure honesty for our Mamas! Read all about this amazing Mom and how she was able to find an all-around healthy lifestyle that is great for her and her family!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I am originally from Palacios, TX. Raised there my entire life and made the move to Houston/Cypress area 4 years ago to take a leap of faith and start a new life. I’ve always been a small town girl and carry those roots with me still to this day. Cypress has definitely made me feel “at home” and I love all of the friends we have made here.

How many children do you have and what are their ages?

We have 2 beautiful little girls. Kynleigh 9 and Amelia 2.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

About 10 years ago, I had severe anxiety and really struggled with keeping myself healthy and taking care of myself. As I saw my oldest daughter grow, I knew it was time to find a more structural and healthy way of living to help battle my anxiety and be the best role model for my littles.

What was most helpful in battling your anxiety? I’m guessing fitness might be one of them, can you share any details that would be helpful to other Moms?

Yes! Honestly the best way for me to overcome it was finding balance…and by balance i mean finding an even level in all aspects of life! Staying organized, finding time to spend with my daughters and talking to them about the little things, balance in my diet, having a plan, and honestly setting aside just a few short minutes a day to reflect on myself and focus on ME and not what the rest of the world is doing. Also, taking a moment and focusing on all the joys and little sparks of happiness that my kids see and try to see through their eyes.

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Yes! The two greatest women I’ve ever known. My grandma and my mom. My grandma was hands down the classiest and sweetest soul I have ever encountered and my mom is the most hardworking. I try my hardest to live by their standards in life, as in parenthood; being kind to others, respecting people, and working hard everyday for my family. That’s my goal everyday as a parent to show my kids these examples I was shown all while growing up. I would also thank my husband. He is hands down the rock of our family and I couldn’t do it without him and his constant support

Favorite things to do with your kids around town (Cypress/Copperfield/Jersey Village/Cyfair)?

Growing up, I was raised in a golf family! One of our favorite things to do is play when we have the opportunity! We joined Sterling Country Club and our 9 year old is in their junior program. It’s such a great sport to stay involved in and grow in and we love watching both of our girls discover their love of the sport as well! We also love going around and trying new places to eat and of course hanging out at the Towne Lake Boardwalk! I love the Union kitchen and the new Ambriza. Their service is so great! They always treat my kids well and deliver very professionally! It’s also nice to sit out and watch the lake and let the kids play in the green area.

Favorite local things to do in the Cypress area?

This would also go a lot with the previous question. We love trying new places to eat, different social events happening around, local patio dining’s, etc. We love doing things as a family and letting our girls join in on the fun with us. We are always looking forward to trying something new! We also really enjoy the Rose Hill Beer Garden. Because let’s be real, at the end of a long week; sometimes Momma and Daddy enjoy a little nice local brew. Lol!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

Pure barre! It has literally been “my place” ever since I discovered it. After living in Cypress for about a year, I knew I needed to find a place where I could join a group and focus on my fitness goals, get healthy, and meet some wonderful ladies! My friend was an instructor at a different studio and referred me, after my first class I was hooked and shortly went through the lengthy process of becoming a teacher there myself. I now teach throughout the week and it is truly inspiring for me to be the person that gets to witness these rockstars in class and push them to their limits. Each and everyone has a story and a different purpose and I’m so fortunate to be there and be their motivator! I’ve met numerous friends through pure barre and they all hold such a special place. It’s 55 minutes of shaking, muscle toning, sweat, and most of all 55 minutes to focus on YOU.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

The people! We’ve met so many great friends since we’ve lived here. I came from such a small town and knew everyone. It was a huge adjustment for me, but the friends we’ve made make us feel at home. Because of the friends I’ve made at pure barre, it motivates me each day to deliver the best class possible to them. I know how hard they work and they deserve their time to come to class and get the best out 55 minutes. I couldn’t have made it this far without them, they inspire me!
