For Today’s Meet a Mom Feature we have Courtney Okanlomo. Courtney is a Mom of 3 boys. This Mama is FULL of energy – she definitely wears many hats and makes it look so smooth! She is co-owner of Cypress Sweets, a locally owned and operated sweets shop in Cypress, and she is also a full time realtor. I got introduced to Courtney as I prepped for the “1st Cypress Moms Network Moms Night Out- Holiday” event this past December (a recap Blog post to come on that this week!). If you were one of the first 50 people to arrive, then you were one of the lucky ones to receive a swag bag which also included a treat from Cypress Sweets. What I learned about Courtney is that though she is a very sharp business woman, if you stop and talk to her you will find that she is also so sweet (no pun intended!) and personable.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Chicago, IL, and have lived in the Houston/Cypress area for the last 10.5 years.
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
I have 3 boys – they are 7, 5, 3 – Cade, Beckham & Austin!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
That I am a true introvert at heart and LOVE having alone time.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
The saying goes ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and this is by far my truth. My village is comprised of my family and friends that have always supported and encouraged me throughout my years as a parent.
Favorite things to do with your kids around town (Cypress/Copperfield/Jersey Village/Cyfair)?
Crafting at Cypress Sweets of course! LOL They literally beg to visit our store every single day! Aside from that, my children are obsessed with Fun N Play, Monkey Joe’s and Urban Air – all things active!
Favorite local things to do in the Cypress?
In Cypress, I personally love Board & Brush after visiting for the first time for a Mom’s Night Out event recently. I also love all of the beautiful parks that we’re surrounded by!

I am a full time Realtor, and one part of the sister duo that owns Cypress Sweets! I have thoroughly enjoyed merging both businesses through community outreach, by regularly offering real estate seminars that are completely complimentary.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
The Cypress area community has been extremely instrumental in my success in more ways than one. From visiting and patronizing the shop, to spreading the word to family and friends, I am extremely grateful for the sense of togetherness that our community so naturally exhibits.
