Christmas Lights in Houston - Cypress Moms Network

One of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season is by visiting one of the many Christmas lights displays in Houston!

Seeing homes dressed up in all the lights is sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit! Though we certainly love taking a little longer to get home so that we can admire our local neighborhood all dressed up in lights, we added a few further attractions to our list this year! There are some areas in Houston that definitely do kick it up a notch and have great reviews. This past week, we visited a few of the most raved about lights – I highly recommend you visit them if you haven’t already! The nice thing is that you can still do all your to-do items/activities done during the day and at night you can take a leisurely drive around these places and really get into the Christmas spirit. Blast that Christmas playlist, bring snacks, have hot cocoa, and enjoy these free displays with your family!

Tried and True

Preston Wood Forest (Tomball!)

Though I hear the display isn’t as good as previous years, it was my first year and the lights did not disappoint! This neighborhood really does go all out and deserves all the rave! Start on Prestonwood Forest Drive and take a look at this year’s Nite of Lites map to guide your visit. There are even some streets with themes! The light display runs through the last weekend in December.

River Oaks:

The Houses are UNBELIEAVABLE! Start at the River Oaks Country Club on River Oaks Boulevard and work your way from there. We got there before it got dark and drove around before traffic started. It was fun to see how the neighborhood completely transformed into a light haven. Though you can walk, the homes are pretty spread out so I would recommend driving if you have smaller ones. There are also horse-drawn carriage rides if you feel like  taking a stroll that way! There is also a Santa in one of the homes until the end of this weekend. The lights are truly a spectacle to be seen!

Franck Christmas Light Show (Copperfield!)

A close drive gets you 45 minutes of an incredible synchronized light display! The owner has geniously synchronized to music and is on every day starting at 5:30pm! They add in a fire element to the display on special days. There is a special visit from Santa, hot chocolate, visit from the Grinch on specific days listed on their page.
